If we’re talking about accommodations on the Lake Titicaca, we should clarify that there are very few hotels and otherwise a large number of lodges on the lake, since most of the tourism is centered on the Floating Islands of the Uros, and because of their structure (made of totora reeds), they only allow for small buildings made with lightweight materials and with limited living space.
However, this doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy all the comforts offered by a 3 or 4 star hotel, with the added bonus of having an unforgettable experience in the middle of the highest lake in the world.
Tours to Lake Titicaca include sailing in traditional boats, kayaking excursions, artisanal fishing, and textile workshops, along with traditional activities of the island residents.
