Homestay Experience on Amantaní Island

By Diego Alarcón

Amantani Island, in Lake Titicaca, is known for its experiential tourism: most accommodations are in homes of local families who host travelers. There are 10 communities on Amantaní Island, and each takes turns hosting travelers. You will be hosted by a family from one of these communities.

Access is only by boat from the port of Puno (a 2-3 hour journey), and most hosts coordinate pick-up at the dock.

In this blog you will learn about the most outstanding homestays on Amantani Island and how to book a homestay experience on Amantani island.
